In my opinion if they actually paid the trainers training pay and let them train new hires properly by going through the 3 booklets they hand out and expect you to know, at least for the first day or two, servers would be more prepared for the skill out. that really sucked, especially if you already have experience as a server. The next 3 days I was fully taking their tables for them with no help and handing over my hard earned tips at the end of the each shift. Changs features a blend of high-quality, Asian-inspired cuisine and American hospitality in a sophisticated, contemporary bistro setting. My training consisted of following my co worker around while they tended to their tables and blurted out random things here and there as they remembered throughout the night. As long as your trainer is taking tables, that’s understandably their main focus you come last. At the end of your 5 day “training” they pretty much quiz you about everything you are supposed to know at the restaurant except you aren’t actually taught anything really. The only bad thing about this place was the training. Chang’s entrees typically cost between 15 and 25, which is on the higher end for chain restaurants. Additionally, the deal is dine-in only, and can be redeemed just once per table.
